prk vs Verisyse Which eye surgery is best?
Which Eye Surgery to have?
I’m choosing among two (inasmuch I’m not a candidate for Lasik). My variants are
1. Verisyse – $4500 per eye all inclusive (follow up exams, contact up Lasik, touch lens etc.) Quicker healing time.
2. PRK- $4500 for together eyes all inclusive inclusion follow up exams and contact ups if needed.
Some advice? Somebody have these surgery’s done? Views?
Thanks

oh gosh, i just watched a video on the verisyse surgery and well it doesn’t look appealing, their cutting the eye.
I am getting PRK done on the 28th and yes it has longer healing but there is no flap make like during LASIK (which i didn’t qualify for anyways)
Watch the videos of PRK and Verisyse. I havent yet had either so as far as quality i’m not sure, however i’m only paying $3800 for both with warranties and such.

If your Rx is less than -6. 00 then PRK is better.
If it is more than -6. 00 then Verisyse might be your only current surgical option.
The problem is that this Verisyse lens is actually placed inside the eye.
There are no long range studies to show what effect this has on your vision in the future.
Some problems now include dislocation of the lens, cataract formation and glaucoma.
This is one that needs a second opinion from another refractive surgeon before going ahead, especially since something disqualified you for lasik.
