LASIK eye surgery has been approved to treat astigmatism.
Astigmatism occurs when your eye is irregularly shaped. This causes light to dissolve.
It's amazing the level of astigmatism can be treated. Different laser treatment of astigmatism in different ways and with different areas. For the laser VISX Star S4, we can treat up to 5 diopters of corneal astigmatism with noncustom treatment and up to 3 diopters of corneal astigmatism with custom treatment.
As always, you get a LASIK consultation to see if LASIK surgery is a good choice for you.

I have astigmatism, too. I went to see the paper not too long ago, and told me that I would be a good candidate.
It depends on the degree of astigmatism. Call around and see if there are doctors will give you a free look-up.

Yes, it depends on the amount of astigmatism, however.
If you have small amounts of astigmatism can be corrected easily, but if you have high amounts, may not be able to, or may need to use a different surgery to correct it other than LASIK, it is up to the surgeon, what process will do next.
Also note ALL USERS OF YAHOO: this is just my opinion and advice and should always see YOUR doctor for a complete evaluation.

Yes – but this depends on how you have astigmatism – high amounts is difficult to correct, but is systematically lower amounts.
