Intraoperative complications
The incidence of complications of a folding cusp as it was estimated, made 0.244 %. Complications of a folding cusp (such as the translocated folding cusps or folds in folding cusps which demand repeated to place, diffuse a lamellar keratitis, and epithelial growing) are spread in lamellar corneal surgeries, but seldom lead to permanent visual losses of acuteness; the incidence of these complications bound to a microkeratome decreases with the enlarged case of the doctor.
The slipping folding cusp (a corneal folding cusp which separates from other part of a cornea) is one of the most blanket complications. Possibilities of it are immediately the greatest after surgery, thus to patients typically advise to go home and to sleep, allow a folding cusp to heal.
Particles of an interior surface of a folding cusp - other detection, which clinical value is uncertain. The Finnish examination has found, that particles of the various sizes and a reflectivity were clinically visible in 38.7 % of the eyes explored through biomicroscopy of a slit lamp, but are obvious in 100 % of eyes, using confocal microscopy.
